SUMMARY:Cognitive Behavioiral Therapy For Chronic Illness
DESCRIPTION:Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has emerged as a promising adjunctive treatment in managing chronic conditions such as diabetes and cancer. This 2 days’ workshop aims to elucidate the efficacy and implementation of CBT in addressing the psychological and behavioral aspects of these illnesses. CBT demonstrates efficacy in improving psychological well-being\, glycemic control\, and treatment adherence among individuals with diabetes. Techniques such as cognitive restructuring\, behavioral activation\, and stress management are effective in addressing maladaptive coping strategies and reducing diabetes-related distress. In the context of cancer\, CBT interventions have shown effectiveness in alleviating symptoms of anxiety\, depression\, and treatment-related distress. Furthermore\, CBT enhances coping skills\, promotes adaptive health behaviors\, and improves overall quality of life in cancer survivors. Integrating CBT into the management of diabetes and cancer offers a holistic approach to healthcare by addressing the psychosocial factors that impact disease outcomes. However\, challenges remain in implementing CBT within healthcare settings\, including limited access to trained therapists\, cost barriers\, and cultural considerations. \nCOGNITIVE BEHAVIOIRAL THERAPY FOR CHRONIC ILLNESS\nCBT Chronic Illness Schedule
