MPA Conference Sponsorship.

MPA encourages its member to take opportunities in continuous learning activities. This is to enable mental health service providers in Malaysia to keep abreast with the latest development in the field. Members are also encouraged to share their knowledge with colleagues locally and internationally. As a step to achieve this objective, MPA has allocated a substantial amount of sponsorship for their members to attend conferences abroad.

The conditions to apply are as follow:

  1. The applicant is an active member of MPA (Life Ordinary Membership type for at least one year duration) who intends to attend a Psychiatric-related conference.
  2. Either oral or poster presentation has been accepted at the conference. E-poster submission however, is not qualified for this application. (please attach proof of acceptance by the specified conference).
  3. The details of the conference and the expected expenses related to the conference MUST be described in the application (please refer to the application form).
  4. Reimbursement for successful applicants: receipts / proof of payments made MUST be sent to MPA no later than 1 month after the conference has ended.
  5. Priority will be given to Early Career Psychiatrists (i.e., psychiatrists who has qualified as specialist for less than 5 years or aged less than 40 years old, whichever comes later).
  6. The applicants can apply once every two years.
  7. The application MUST be submitted to MPA 2 months prior to the conference.

MPA Project Development / Event Aid

MPA very much encourages its members to organize and manage projects and events that are beneficial to the fraternity. As a step to achieve this objective, MPA has allocated a substantial amount of financial support for aspiring members who are interested, to cover the expenses of the proposed project / event to certain maximum amount.

The conditions to apply are as follow:

  1. The applicant is an active member of MPA (Life Associate / Ordinary Membership type for at least one year duration).
  2. The project or event proposed is beneficial to the fraternity e.g., for public education and awareness, has preventive values, has elements of creativity and innovation for high impact delivery to target audience.
  3. The details of the related expenses are to be detailed in the submitted proposal.
  4. The application MUST be submitted to MPA 2 months prior to the project or event initiation.
  5. Project or event reports made MUST be sent to MPA no later than 1 month after the event has ended.
  6. Successful applicants can only reapply again after two years.

The amount of reimbursement is subjected to committee’s decision. Applicants are much encouraged to source for other financial resources prior to applying to MPA.

(MPA Project Development / Event Aid)

MPA Publication Initiative

MPA very much encourages its members to be involved in research and publication especially in high impact journals, as this will promote continuous development and knowledge expansion in the field. As a step to achieve this objective, MPA has allocated a substantial amount of publication aid for the aspiring members who are interested, to cover the publication fee (page charges) to certain maximum amount.

The conditions to apply are as follow:

  1. The applicant is an active member of the MPA (i.e., a Life Associate / Ordinary Member for at least one year) and intends to publish in a high-impact Psychiatric journal.
  2. The submitted article MUST fulfil the following:
    1. Top 10% journals / Q1-Q4 / Scopus ranking submission.
    2. The applicant is the first / corresponding author.
    3. The submission has been approved for publication.
  3. The details of the journal, impact factor, related expenses etc. are to be detailed in the application form.
  4. Reimbursement for successful applicants: receipts / proof of payments made MUST be sent to MPA no later than 1 month after the successful publication.
  5. The applicants can apply once a year.
  6. The application MUST be submitted to MPA within 12 months from the date of journal submission.
