It is with great sadness that the Malaysian Psychiatric Association (MPA) records the passing of Brigadier General (Rtd) Professor Dato’ Dr. N. Rajagopal, a distinguished psychiatrist, educator, and leader, who passed away on 27 June 2026.

Professor Dato’ Rajagopal dedicated his life to psychiatry, medical education, and advancing mental healthcare in Malaysia. He was widely respected for his clinical expertise, wisdom, humility, and unwavering commitment to his patients, students, and colleagues. Throughout his distinguished career, he inspired generations of psychiatrists through his teaching, mentorship, and exemplary professionalism.

His passing is a great loss to the psychiatric fraternity and the wider medical community. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched, the psychiatrists he trained, and the enduring values of compassion, excellence, and service he exemplified.
